Depression

Depression is not a modern day disease.

But the Quran describes a type of people, whose souls are most easily destroyed when the world moves too fast, when values collapse, when nothing else feels certain.

And the traits are on almost everyone alive today.
Including you.

Allah said:

"In fact, human beings are created to complain and kikir. When faced with hardship, it complains, when received goodness, it is very bitter. "
(Al-Ma'arij: 19-21)

God is not insulting man.
la describes the default state of the soul when nothing is holding it.
It's hard, complaining is hard.
Happy , forget and nuts .
Never enough of both.

In the age when difficulty comes faster, when the standard of "enough" keeps moving up, the soul that has no objection will be crushed slowly.

The Prophet described the end of times not only with a disaster, but with something more subtle and more deadly:
"Will come to man the years of deception... " (HR. Ahmad)

The most dangerous deception is not external. But deep in the way we see ourselves.

An abundance of information but a loss of meaning. Endless connection but deep loneliness. Unlimited choices but don't know what really want.

A soul that has been fragile from the very beginning has no supplies to face all of this.

Be honest for a second.
▪︎ You're easily anxious when something doesn't go according to plan, when it's not necessarily as bad as imagined.
▪︎ It is difficult to be grateful sincerely, there is always something lacking, which is not yet, which is not appropriate.
▪︎ It's easy to compare your life to others you see on the screen.
▪︎ You are uncomfortable with uncertainty, and the end of times is the age where almost nothing is certain.

Al-Quran has mentioned all of these, not as a disgrace but as a condition that needs to be realized and treated.

Verses 22-23 of the same Surah continue:

Except for those who pray 722
Illal-muṣallīn.
"Except for those who perform salat,"
Those who are steadfast in their prayers are constant 723
We are Allah's grace.
"(That is) those who are always istiqamah (fixed) in performing their prayers. " (QS. Al-Maarij: 22-23)

The daimmun word used means constant, consistent, and fully present.
The Quran offers no escape from distress.
la offers an anchor.

Something that keeps your soul from drifting when everything outside of you is moving uncontrollably. An anchor is a living connection to Allah. Not an empty ritual, but a soul that knows where to go home.

If you recognize yourself in previous slides, it's not a sign that you are weak.
This is your sign human.

The Quran describes these conditions not to make you give up, but because Allah knows exactly what the human soul needs.
And la doesn't leave you without a solution.

What is needed is more motivation. All it takes is a true understanding of what the Qur'an has to offer this soul, which unfortunately is rarely taught in a way that touches real life.
